Commissioned by Jordan Marsh Company to rest atop the downtown headquarters’ building marquee, this brightly illuminated sculpture acted as a beacon inviting shoppers to view the store’s new Spring Fashion Collection during a nighttime black-tie opening event.  Constructed of knit fabric supported by rings of tubing, this piece consists of five units ranging from 50 ft to 75 ft in length, and from 12 ft to 20 ft in diameter.  The internal lighting system located within these cone-shaped forms, consisting of a hundred individual lamps, each was connected to a single key of a massive keyboard and “played” to sounds of music, “pulsating” up and down the entire length of the store’s marquee.  Installed throughout the winter season, the daytime view of this 350 foot-long sculpture mirrored the multiple flags running along the building across the street.

"My sculptural environments are aesthetically pleasing site-specific artworks that connect nature and culture by employing the three legacies for regenerative and sustainable design of (1) environment: natural systems, (2) education: experiential systems, and (3) engagement: cultural systems. By using a variety of art media and fabrication methods to create sculptural open spaces that are intended to support personal rejuvenation and inspiration, my sculptures provide venues for environmental learning and community celebration.”
