This streamside environmental sculptural landscape concept proposal was submitted to the national Out of the Woods art competition requesting designs for public outdoor sculptures to be installed in Fairmont Park, Philadelphia, PA. Connecting nature to culture, this sculptural installation employs a circular brick ceremonial space that has been sliced through by the power of a stream. Assisting erosion control of the banks, the mirror walls also provide park visitors with a thoughtful reflection of both nature’s power and themselves as they walk along the stream’s edge. The whole sculpture not only solves ecological problems but highlights nature’s continuing expansion and health to even take back those open spaces sacred to man.
Though proposed to a curator at the North Carolina Museum of Art as part of a presentation made by the artist as a public art addition to the sculpture park, the design was rejected.

By using a variety of art media and fabrication methods to create sculptural open spaces that are intended to support personal rejuvenation and inspiration, my sculptures provide venues for environmental learning and community celebration.”
